July 23 Update: This Just In...
We're just one week away from our event, and I want to give you an important update that
many of you might have guessed by now. This summer, California has suffered a staggering
number of wildfires throughout the state, scorching millions of acres of land and
devastating homes and farms. California's Department of Parks and Wildlife has issued an
order (direct from Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger) that calls for the public's assistance
in the prevention of open fires.
Unfortunately, our annual bonfire/campfire falls under this category.
For those of you looking for a later evening outdoor event, we have put together a
four-night party called HUSH HUSH SWEET SMOKEY, sponsored by Beef Dip and 100% BEEF.
The location of this late night, moonlit party is the same ESTATE that hosts Sunday
Furry Sunday, right across the street from the old Fife's (now the New Dawn Ranch).
We are encouraging you to bring blankets, sleeping bags, flashlights, swim suits and
towels. Because there is a new noise ordinance that requires any amplified noise or
music to stop at 10:30 PM, this social will not be so much about hootin' n hollerin'
as it is about being able to have a nice place to go to with a full bar that allows
you to see this incredible estate from a nocturnal point of view!
Please know that we are truly sorry about having to cancel Pyro's Bonfire. It is
considered by many in the Lazy Bear family (including myself) to be the highlight of
LBW. We hope you will enjoy this alternate late night party.
Feel free to contact us at
lazybearweekend@aol.com. In addition we suggest you bringing this handy Lazy Bear
schedule -
Print Friendly Version.
Looking forward to seeing everybody next week!

Bear Tags will also be available at the door (so you can avoid the long lines in
Guerneville). We are encouraging you to bring your LB Tags from previous years.
